Created with the traditional 3-step animation technique, starting from a concept by the Connexia Creative Agency, and in collaboration with the illustrator and Creative Director Margherita Premuroso, the video has a strong emotional energy which leverages feelings and memory.
The short film summarizes the story of Paolo Rovagnati, starting from the ‘50s when he was still a boy and he tried to help his father in the family business which produced butter and marketed cheese. Following a brilliant intuition, Paolo decides to attempt an undertaking: creating a unique product, which was absent on the market at the time, a High Quality Prosciutto Cotto. In the film Paolo becomes a man and, attempt after attempt, he realizes his dream: to create Gran Biscotto, which is today the No. 1 Prosciutto Cotto in Italy (data source: Circana).

Rovagnati’s history changed forever when Gran Biscotto was born. In the ‘80s, Paolo Rovagnati came up with the brilliant idea of a continuous branding mark on the rind of his flagship product that made it instantly recognizable, even without its packaging.
Paolo’s dream was also to bring his products in the the United States. This dream today is reality: in 2021 Rovagnati opened its first production plant in Vineland, New Jersey. The plant has the aim of preserving and combining Italian quality and tradition with the American taste.

“We are proud of the realization of this project, which honors the legacy left by Paolo, not only to us, but to the whole Country. The eighty years since his birth are the opportunity to talk about him as a visionary entrepreneur, but also as an extraordinary father and husband. We particularly appreciate that the short film tells both his professional and human dimensions, inseparably united by the idea of the dream”, comments the Rovagnati Family.
“Working at Paolo’s Dream represented an exciting challenge for me. I started by searching for anecdotes and stories in his family and among those who had known him in life, so as to make the memory of him as tangible as possible, through a character who resembles him not only in the appearance. I hope I have managed to convey, with the line and the animation, the same combination of determination and kindness that these memories have transmitted to me“, comments the illustrator Margherita Premuroso.
